Educational and Ministerial Background

Prior to joining APTS as Librarian and faculty member, Nick served as Chief Content Officr for Network211. an internet evangelism ministry of the Assemblies of God World Missions, International Ministries Region.  Prior to that, he was Seminary Librarian and Lecturer at Cape Theological Seminary, Cape Town, South Africa, 2003-2007.  He served ICI as National Director - USA, then as Director of Educational Technology, and finally as Global University Librarian in the years 1991-2003.  He served as Director of University Ministries, and then Managing Director, ICI, in Austria 1987-1991.  He was Evangelism Coordinator for Eurasia Teecn Challenge, serving the Europe Region 1980-1986.  Prior to missionary service, he served as Minister of Music and Youth at two AG churches in the Southern New England District, and Minister of Music at a church in the North Texas District.  He has been an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God since 1981.

Areas of Interest

Music has always been a part of Nick's life, and has led to extensive experience in professional and church music performance.  Technology has also been a large part of his interests, beginning with science fiction reading as a young person, radio technician and service in the US Army for three years, and the use of computers in mission work in general.  He introduces ICI to Internet in 1991-1992, making several presentations to the ICI Board of Administration to convince them of the need to invest in this technology for distance learning.  If he were to have a hobby, he would like to set up an online gaming network with old, discarded pcs in one room of his home for friends to enjoy.  If he were able one day to retire, his dream would be to return full time to school to study whatever would be of current interest to him, starting with philosophy, theology, religion, psychology and sociology, to answer questions about two areas: human motivation and reality perception and how they relate to the gospel's teaching on reality.  because he grew up in a multi-cultural and dysfunctional  family setting in Hawaii, he would like to compare the gospel's teaching on reality with that taught by American Indian, African, Chinese, and American-European cultural values.

Family and Personal Interest                                                                                                   

Ruth and Nick have three grown children: Heather, Jonathan and wife Sarah have a three month old daughter, Elisabeth Rose (Lily).  Joel and wife Leah have an eight month old daughter, Siena Justiss.  Nick and Ruth used to have many different interests such as music, reading, sewing, and the like.  Lately, however, their interest have settled down to just two - Siena and Lily.
