| The Vision/Mission & Doctrinal Statements of APTS
Asia Pacific Theological Seminary (APTS) was founded by the Assemblies of God as Far East Advanced School of Theology (FEAST) in 1964. APTS exists to prepare ministerial leaders for the Pentecostal and Charismatic churches of the Asia Pacific regionh, and to serve as a resource center for assisting these churches to fulfill their biblical mandate. To this end, APTS provides advanced leadership training within the Pentecostal tradition and a variety of theological, educational and ministry services that seek to develop and enhance the effectiveness of the churches and students it serves. Specialized training is offered in theology, Bible, pastoral ministry, Christian education, Bible school ministry, evangelism and missions. An important goal of APTS is to conduct academically sound educational programs that are sensitive to the cultural issues and needs of the Asia Pacific region, while providing opportunities for students to learn through hands-on ministry experiences. APTS is governed by an international board of directors from Asia's Pentecostal churches. The seminary is also a member of a consortium of evangelical seminaries that comprise the Asia Graduate School of Theology (AGST), offering graduate and post-graduate degree programs. Students come mainly from the Asia-Pacific region but there are also some students from other parts of the world like Africa and Europe. APTS offers a close-knit campus community led by a cross-cultural faculty with many years of experience in their fields of instruction that encourages Pentecostal worship, spiritual growth, and maturity.
