Library
The APTS library currently houses almost 50,000 volumes as well as other print and media holdings in an open stack system and a reference/study area. Modern technology available for student use includes a micro data reader, a computer designated for use with online journals, an online catalog system and four computers with printers for use in research and writing assignments. As everywhere on the campus, the library is set up with wireless internet. A plan is being implemented for a collection of electronic/digitized books, journals, encyclopedias, etc. By using a virtual CD Drive , network usage will be possible from anywhere on the campus.
Currently the library subscribes to over 300 periodic resources, half of which are peer reviewed journals, as well as an online archive of journals for the past 50 years. These help to keep the library current, especially in the Pentecostal and Charismatic activity of the church as well as in theology, missions and education.
The library serves the APTS community with a head librarian, three full time staff members and student assistants. Students interested in learning the overall operations of the library may serve while earning credits toward their degree. The Alexandria automated library system includes an online catalog which gives easy access to the various holdings of the library. Patrons can search all forms of information in the library holdings in one easy location via the computer.
The APTS library is a member of the American Theological Library Association (ATLA) and the Philippine Theological Library Association (PTLA), as well as local chapters of the Baguio-Benguet Library Association. As such it has access to periodical holdings of more than a dozen libraries within the Philippines and limited access to other holdings.
The APTS library includes more than 1500 dissertations, 2500 microfiche, and the forthcoming acquisition of major collections in Chinese and Syriac materials to enhance the broad range of issues in these subject areas.
