Student Life

In APTS, students are not only trained academically but more important is the development of their spiritual life through a variety of activities. Chapel services for instance are considered an integral part of the educational experience and spiritual development of each student.

During the school year, various activities are scheduled which include the spiritual emphasis week, missions convention, and two special lecture series. The multinational culture at APTS provides a wonderful opportunity for students to learn from each other as they prepare for the future ministry that may entail cross-cultural experience.

Spiritual Life

APTS encourages students to experience a deeper and more dynamic spiritual life as part of their seminary time. Regular chapel services, spiritual emphasis week, devotional times of prayer and worship, small group sessions, and local church involvement form an essential part of this process.

Chapel services are considered an integral part of the educational experience and spiritual development of each student. Services are held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for worship, prayer, and a message from the Word. Regular attendance contributes to the spiritual life of the seminary education.

Small group fellowships are held regularly in faculty homes on Fridays. These informal gatherings are designed to be times of fellowship, fun, prayer, sharing of cultural views, and personal testimonies. Faculty members host these gatherings to nurture interpersonal relationships and build community spirit.

Monthly prayer meetings are scheduled in which students and faculty are invited to participate. Each student is encouraged to have a regular time of private devotional time. Two prayer rooms designated respectively for men and women are open 24 hours a day in the Bethesda residence hall.

Students are expected to identify themselves with a local church of their choice to attend services regularly and to be involved in the ministry of the church. In addition, the Ministry Development Program offers opportunities for weekend ministry activities including jail ministry, public school ministry, and hospital ministry.
