Help on Reading On-Line Articles Using Adobe Acrobat Reader
All the articles of the Journal of Asian Mission, many of
the articles in the Asian Journal of Theology, and application
forms for APTS have been placed on our web site in the Adobe Acrobat
file format (also called PDF files after the file extension of Acrobat
files).
This page will give you some initial help in understanding how to
use PDF files.
- There are several reasons why we have chosen to use the PDF file
format for our journals:
- The articles can be viewed in the exact form as they appear
in the printed version.
- The end user (you) does not need to have any particular
fonts installed on his or her computer. This is particularly
helpful with regards to Greek and Hebrew fonts.
- You can print out the articles directly and get the same
look as the printed version.
- You must have the Adobe Acrobat reader installed on your
computer system in order to be able to read the files. The Reader
is available free from Adobe and can be downloaded at
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html
After you enter your name, you may download the file and install
it into your system. You obtain help in installing and using the
Reader from the Adobe site.
- Since many different software use the PDF file format, it is
possible that the Acrobat reader is already installed on your
computer. If you click one of our PDF file links and the article
appears, the Acrobat reader is already installed on your system.
- To download the articles and read them off-line, RIGHT-CLICK on
the article link, and select "Save As." Your browser
will save the article on your local disk and you can read it at
your convenience.
